NEXTEYE Registers 11th Core Patent, Enhancing Optical Inspection Efficiency
with Innovative Film Holding Technology
South Korea’s leading machine vision technology company, NEXTEYE, announced today (July 8, 2025) that its independently developed technology — the "Film Holder for Inspection Devices" — has officially been granted a patent, marking yet another breakthrough in overcoming long-standing technical barriers.
This newly granted patent marks NEXTEYE’s 11th core achievement, following its seven domestic patents — including technologies for polarizing film inspection devices, LED modules, backlight unit inspection systems, and foreign substance detection in instant rice containers — and three overseas patents such as those related to LCD panel inspection systems.
It represents a significant milestone as it not only raises the bar in the field of high-precision optical inspection, but also further solidifies NEXTEYE’s technological leadership and dominance over key industry innovations.
Overcoming Technical Barriers
Conventional film-holding methods have long faced two major technical limitations due to the use of opaque suction plates. First, the blocking of backlight illumination leads to image distortion; Second, the exposure of suction holes in the imaging field introduces a high risk of false detection. As a result, these limitations have continuously hindered overall inspection accuracy in optical systems.
This newly patented technology achieves two simultaneous breakthroughs through an innovative structural design — all while maintaining the suction functionality:
The innovative value of the "Film Holder for
Inspection Devices" extends far beyond conventional inspection settings,
offering broad applicability across diverse high-tech fields.
This technology holds strong potential for deployment in industries requiring
ultra-precise optical inspection, such as display panels, semiconductors, and
biosensors.
It not only enhances inspection accuracy, but is also expected to deliver
significant improvements in efficiency and cost-effectiveness by reducing
inspection time and operational overhead.
“This is not merely a hardware upgrade,” emphasized Vice President Yang Ki-il of the Vision Inspection Division.
“It represents a core solution to enhancing optical inspection efficiency in machine vision — and more than that, a fundamental evolution in the principles of optical inspection itself.”
He added,
“While the industry continues to explore ‘how to see,’ we have already moved a
step further — solving the challenge of ‘how to see with precision.’
This patent will accelerate the adoption of machine vision technologies across
a wide range of emerging fields and will further strengthen NEXTEYE’s
competitive edge in the machine vision industry.”
